Knowledge and connections add up — they don't replace each other
La fórmula agrupa Conocimientos y Contactos dentro del mismo paréntesis a propósito: uno no sustituye al otro. Se puede saber mucho y no conocer a quien haga falta; se puede conocer a todo el mundo y no tener nada que ofrecer. Ninguno de los dos, por separado, mueve la aguja del todo — juntos, sí. Y todo ese paréntesis se multiplica por la Actitud y por la Suerte: si cualquiera de esas dos cae a cero, el resultado también.
The formula groups Knowledge and Connections inside the same parentheses on purpose: neither one replaces the other. You can know a lot and not know the right person; you can know everyone and have nothing to offer. Neither one alone moves the needle much — together, they do. And that whole parenthesis gets multiplied by Attitude and by Luck: if either of those drops to zero, so does the result.

La fórmula no distingue entre mentes, pero tu mente sí cambia cómo se aplica. Entender cómo funcionan tu atención, tus rutinas y tu sensibilidad forma parte de los Conocimientos; rodearte de personas que te entienden, de los Contactos. Y la Actitud no es fuerza de voluntad a ciegas: a veces consiste en dejar de pelear contra tu forma de funcionar y diseñar un sistema que la tenga en cuenta. Y una advertencia honesta: ningún talento, por grande que sea, compensa un cero en las demás variables. Es la lectura de Club Camaleón, no un tratamiento.

And Attitude isn't blind willpower: sometimes it means ceasing to fight against the way you function and designing a system that takes it into account. And an honest warning: no talent, however great, makes up for a zero in the other variables. It is Club Camaleón's reading, not a treatment.
